I was busy, but then, while the fullmoon grew, I managed it to return to study my Shakuhachi again. After hours (!) of hard work I actually heard tunes – small, shy fellows, but they were there! Suddenly I felt the magic from that instrument. For me Shakuhachi is very important from that hour on. I breath through it. I get silence through it. How will it be when the Shakuhachi offers me more?

It’s just a matter of time when I will tell some old and weird japanese Stories with my new friend.

Till then, sleep well!

The first and only Shakuhachi arrived in the crypts of the catacombs studios. I am starting to learn this traditional instrument.

Yesterday evening I could open a package i waited for more then 10 days. It was my Shakuhachi I ordered before a while. A Shakuhachi is bamboo flute, a traditional japanese/chinese instrument. Mine is very bright, original bamboo colours. Of course I opened the package and expected to play some tunes before the night is over. Well, no. No chance. There were no tunes coming from it, just a very unspectacular pffffffft.

I guess I have to sit down and practice for a while before I can bring this instrument into my music. It such a difficult beast cause you don’t have such a thing like a flute header. You have to form the header with your mouth and well, thats quite unusual for western guys like me.

But as frustrating as it was in the beginning, I think it will be good some day. A Shakuhachi is a wonderful instrument (generally speaking). I will never surrender!!!
