The future of THARGOS

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

THARGOS has been inactive since 2007. I have allowed Front (now called Gumo) to use the THARGOS brand and the concept, but he decided to continue with a new project. He told me that I may use everything myself, and well, I am thinking about using it actually.
I have written some new songs, sounding very oldschool, maiden maybe, with melodys and sometime very hard parts. I think they are pretty fine, and I am thinking about using them as a new THARGOS demo which could be released by the end of this year. I am not sure about that, but I feel I could have lots of fun with that idea. THARGOS beeing a demo band again, sounding exactly like I want it to sound – perfect. Finally this could help me to sell some of the SALEM CITY CDs which I have at home, or the other pieces like the BLACK METAL PUNKZ 7″, the shirts, or the KILLFUKK CD.
Let me know what you think – and remember, THARGOS music will sound very different, but oldschool. Its lyrics will remain – I want to have some more fukk off attitude, which has gone lost a bit with SALEM CITY.

That’s all, right now.

Dear Friends,

as you may have noticed, this month has been a busy one. But now I am finished: today I programmed the gallery code for www.ghul.org and put the Wave Gotik Treffen 2008 review online at ghul.org. I have some plans for this website in future, but for now that’s all. No more features. Now I will enjoy writing content – after my trip to the greek island crete, where I dive into the myths of minos. I am glad about this vacation. I have done too much in the last weeks and I feel exhausted.

Of course there are new plans on music now. I will step back from web-programming to music composing and some content creation when I return.

Till then, I wish you all the best.

New Ghul Website

Dear Friends, living or dead,

in the past two years i figured out again, how important music is for me. These days I have spoken to so much people. After a while, CULTES DES GOULES has been not only the side project of an broken musician. No, with the help of many people that band has recorded a CD and got more and more listeners and supporters.

However, the story didn’t end here. I have many interesting offers for the future. I take them so serious, that i decided to put another website online.

About CULTES DES GOULES: http://www.cultesdesgoules.org
About Cy Ghul, Scene, Side Projects: http://www.ghul.org

I don’t want to mix CULTES DES GOULES with that new website content. In fact, at the new website you can read everything about my past musicial pathes, my opinion on the scene (ok, that part needs to build up :-) ) and of course about side projects I currently run.
These sideprojects include non-metal music and therefor I decided to activate a new mailinglist for that stuff:

http://groups.google.com/group/cy-ghul
You can subscribe to the list at: http://www.ghul.org/newsletter.html

If you subscribe you’ll read about updates to this website and about all activities, while subscribing to the CULTES DES GOULES means, that you only recieve METAL and CULTES DES GOULES related stuff.

However, as a bonus and a little birthday present to www.ghul.org, i have put two new songs online – but be warned, it’s NO METAL! Just check out my download page and get your copy of:

MONOLEBEN – a song inspired by the german author Boris Koch. The lyrics are taken mostly direct from this short story. If you feel you are monotized – this song is for you!

FEENTOD – Did you ever wonder where gandalf went after the ring wars ended? Here is the answer!

However – as mentioned you will not recieve any news on that electro/whatever stuff here – so please subscribe to the ghul-mailinglist too!

With best regards,
Cy Ghul

…lots of days are gone, and people changed.

I am impressed by myself; with my former band THARGOS i always wanted to have some feedback to my music. Now, with THARGOS dead and my comrades gone, theres something else which keeps me active. I am doing thousand things i never had thought before. I started up with mp3.de and other “social networks”. Why to hell did i do this?

The answer is easy to understand but fairly hard to accept. THARGOS wasn’t the music which came out from my heart for years. It was pain in the ass, even when we reached high resonance. By CULTES DES GOULES is now. It’s not as perfect as it was with Front, who wrote all the old songs, but it’s expressing some stuff. It’s not that i want the feedback or that would like to hear how people tell me how they love that music; i don’t care (but i am glad if someone likes it). I simple love the music myself. I want to hear that. I want to create.

I am sure, even with the help of such talented friends like Azmo from Atargatis or Timothy from Roadkill13, CULTES DES GOULES will stay in the background. It exists for those who are walking the shadowing pathways, far from bands that act like i did in the past. And when they have found us, then they will stay- forever.
